Closed type or DRL type mechanical seals are used only in monoblock pumps. Since the
monoblock pumps are subjected to low head pressure than jet pumps, these types of seals
satisfy the required functional needs. These types of seals are used in pumps which have
compact space in the housing chamber.

The F Type seal is used in lieu of RC Type where cost is a factor. This seal
withstands less load than the RC Type seals. F Type can be used in monoblock
pumps where RC Type might be expensive.
